Sevilla FC play their third friendly against France’s Angers SCO this afternoon from 20.30 (Spanish time). The meeting will take place at the municipal stadium of Bela Vista, in the city of Lagoa, a municipality near Lagos where the residents of Seville will focus on their second phase of preparation. After games against Tottenham and Sporting de Portugal, Julen Lopetegui’s men face a new summer test in preparation for a start to La Liga that is fast approaching.
The Sevilla starting XI in this third round of the preparation team consists of: Dmitrovic, Montiel, Gudelj, Rekik, Acuña, Delaney, Jordán, Papu Gómez, Ocampos, Tecatito Corona and En-Nesyri.
As in the previous two friendlies, Marcao won’t be ready to make his debut just yet
, the only Sevilla signing so far. The Brazilian centre-back continues with his line-up to bring himself up to the same level of preparation as the rest of his teammates. Yesterday, Marcao trained outside of the group at Sevilla’s training session in Lagos, although he is expected to be in top form for the team’s upcoming summer outings in England. Rafa Mir is also unavailable due to muscle problems as a precaution.
Given the limitations in defence, Lopetegui therefore decides to field Rekik for the third time, this time with his Serbian partner Nemanja Gudelj, to the detriment of José Ángel Carmona, who started in the previous two friendlies.
Gérald Baticle’s Angers take on Sevilla with the following starting XI: Fofana, Sabanovic, Hountondji, Doumbia, Bentaleb, Ounahi, Capelle, Abdelli, Jakolis and Diony.
The French team has been reinforced with ten signings so far, most of which came as free agents. The fourteenth-placed team in last season’s Ligue 1 face their sixth preseason game this afternoon and have a record of three wins (vs. Niort, 2-1; Stade Olympique Cholet, 2-1; and Saint-Étienne, 4-1). a draw (0-0 against Laval) and a defeat (0-2 against Stade Brestois).
The Nervionenses have already left good game moments in the two friendlies they have played and outlined the preparation for the start of LaLiga, scheduled for Friday August 12 in El Sadar against Osasuna. Worth mentioning are the most minutes that the Sevillastas played against Tottenham (1-1) in Suwon (South Korea) and the first half last Sunday against Sporting de Portugal in Lisbon, where after the 1-1 in regular time the Nervión team won the Cinco Violins Trophy on penalties.
